My day to day beauty products... What should I use to wash my face? or What should I use as a moisturizer?
I had quite a few of you ask about the products I use. Right now I'm not at the point where I feel I should drop hundreds of dollars on beauty products, but maybe in 5 years I will be. Here are a couple of my philosophies when it comes to make-up and creams. Just like medication there are generics. So I am a big generic cosmetic shopper. Loreal is the "generic" of Lancome products, so I use a lot of Loreal moisturizer products. I also spend a little bit more on night cream then I do on a day moisturizer. Skin repair occurs mainly at night, so I like to invest in night creams as opposed to day creams.
Here is my face wash routine as of right now. Your body and skin builds resistance to products that you use often. Just like I change my toothbrush AND toothpaste every three months, I also change my beauty products. When I run out, I don't buy the same one again. So let's start with the basics. Face wash.
1. Face wash and acne medication (salicylic acid for blackheads, benzoyl peroxide for acne). I don't know about you, but I'm still waiting for the day I don't break out anymore. So with that being said, here are the three face washes I have used for the last 6 months. I always purchase two at a time. One for acne that I use in the morning, and one that is not as abrasive at night.
2. Moisturizer and eye cream
I have combination skin, but I don't believe there is a perfect moisturizer made for combination skin. Therefore, I use one for dry skin on my cheeks and one for oily skin on my t-zone. I know this sounds like a chore, but my skin is one thing I want to make sure I take care of. So again, generics during the day, the more expensive stuff at night. Also ALWAYS use a day moisturizer with SPF!! I feel like these products last at least 3-4 months so I'm not switching my moisturizers out as often.
I also wanted to highlight this AMAZING feel good cream. It just feels good. TRUST ME! I use this day and night under my moisturizer.
3. Masks - once a week I'll steam my face and use a mask. My favorite easy DIY mask is an egg white mask. Here are a few linked here.
Now on to the fun stuff - MAKE UP!
4. Brows and eyes
5. Face and Cheeks
6. Another deserving product I use everyday - lashboost by Rodan and Fields every night before bed. My lashes are crazy long and I can't believe the before and after. I can get you in touch with my R&F specialist if you are interested. LOVE the product to pieces. So that's all folks - my daily, crazy, beauty routine.
