That Pink on Pink

A lot of people ask me, "How do you keep up with everything that you're doing?"

Sometimes I ask myself that same question. I don't have it all figured out, but I think I am getting there. Practice makes perfect.  That saying comes to mind when I think about how I keep up with everything.

Origami. That was my favorite. It took patience and a lot of practicing to get a small square piece of paper look like a beautiful crane. I will  never forget the hours I spent making little origami figurines. But at the end of the day, I loved what I created and I didn't feel like I wasted any time.  I think that's the key to getting things accomplished - the prize at the end.

I spend HOURS and I mean HOURS on my dental practice and my blog. But at the end of a long work day, I see the reward. I have to put time into my practice to keep it afloat and keep it growing and the same holds true with my blog. For me, if I put time and effort into something I am hoping there is the reward at the end.

So keeping up with my schedule doesn't come without sacrifices. I would LOVE to sit on the couch after a long day at work and grab KFC and watch nonsense tv shows. But I don't have that luxury right now. I am 1000 miles a minute every day. So doing what I do isn't a piece of cake. It does take time. It does take effort, and it does take practice.

So here is my typical schedule:

6:00am-6:00pm is the time I devote purely to my practice. As much as I LOVE working on my blog, I have to focus on my career. Lunch is devoted to my to do list at work. There is always something to do. It is hard for me to focus on two separate things at a time and really do them well. So I decided early on, those hours are reserved for my dental practice.

6:00pm - 8:00pm is home time, me time, doggie time, and dinner time. So typical things would include a quick trip to the grocery store on the way home, an episode of some random tv show, making dinner, and working out.

8:00pm - 10:30pm I devote to my blog. I know - long day right? But practice makes perfect. I am learning new things everyday. How to improve my website, how to edit photos, how to engage with my audience and keep them happy. I LOVE the time I devote to my blog and I look forward to it everyday. So for me, it's not work at all.

Fridays I don't work in the office. So the entire day I spend on my blog  (unless I have work to catch up on). In essence, there's work and there's play. Work is Mon-Thurs and play is Fri-Sun.  Friday's include:

1. Setting instagram and blog posts for the entire week
2. Scheduling outfits and photoshoots
3. Researching the latest trends and beauty products

Saturdays and Sundays if we aren't traveling, I do things around the house, work on unfinished projects, and do photo shoots. It's game time all the time in my world. So "How do I keep up with everything I am doing?" I stay focused, I keep my eye on the prize, and I go go go 100% of the time.
