For a gal like me, tights or skinny jeans, with an oversized sweater, and OTN boots. Yeah?? Of course I'm your typical thirty something or other that doesn't want to fight the crowd and go Black Friday shopping. However, when I'm snuggled up on the couch with a cup of hot tea, bring on the online shopping. While purchasing elf on the shelf at Target, I decided why not search OTN boots. At 49.99 and 30% off, they were worth at least trying out.... and I love them. I also picked up this sweater that is comfortable, thin, lightweight, and great for layering underneath a black puffer vest. Yay for the season of sales, sales, sales!

I was lucky enough to enjoy four Thanksgiving meals. But just because Fall is almost over, it doesn't mean you have to put up your orange attire. You can wear this outfit as long as it's cold outside. I can't get enough of ponchos (Mine is from last year, but LOVE the one I linked). They are easy to throw over any leggings, pants, or jeans. You can add a snazzy necklace to dress it up or add a chunky scarf to keep you warm. I love turtlenecks and always will. I've hung on to this one for quite a while and am so glad I did. I love necklaces. For this outfit the poncho stands out but I also wanted a statement necklace that was neutral. Here is one that is versatile and can go with anything. There are 6 different styles of shoes you should have in every color.
1. pumps 2. flats 3. flip flops 4. strappy wedges 5. booties 6. boot (knee or thigh hight) Here is #4 strappy wedge in black (check) Look no further for your holiday party outfit! It's hard to figure out what outfit to wear for all the upcoming holiday parties. This mid-calf length dress by Elizabeth and James is perfect! I loved it so much I actually decided to wear it for our holiday portraits as well. Now if we had kids, I would've gone a different route. But, let me know what you think! Links below. Pair it with nude heels (pumps or strappy) and minimal jewelry. If for a holiday party, the more bling on your earrings, the better! Dress- you can rent it now for $75 with the option to buy. Here's a sneak peek of my holiday portraits. This is my sister and me (who also happens to be a pediatric dentist as well). P.S. She is very much pregnant and is due in January! Sooo excited!
So I decided to splurge on Rent the Runway unlimited. It's been fun because you get to choose three items each time, wear it, send it back, and order three more. This week I decided to try the Nanette Lepore cape and I am in love. It's also nice that you have the option to buy it. Call me old fashioned, but I love to sip on tea, read, and listen to classical music with my pinky high in the sky.The clothes I'm drawn to are usually a mix of traditional elegance mixed with modern chic. So when I'm thinking fabrics and style I an never turn down military tailored coats, black lace, and houndstooth. Yaaaaaas! This outfit is perfect to wear to Sunday Brunch. Cape - You can rent it here. I've also included two links to other capes I love Option1 & Option 2. Sweater - White House black market Skirt - Jcrew Gloves -tech friendly so you don't have to take them off when you need to use your phone Thank goodness NYC is the city that never sleeps. What was supposed to be a 4 hour flight ended up being a 12 hour flight. Which meant instead of having two days to tour the city, we only had one. Thank goodness I packed accordingly and was able to accomplish a lot in just one day. When choosing an outfit to wear you want to dress for the weather. NYC in November is typically pretty chilly, but if you're constantly on the go and in between shade and sun, you need to pick a versatile and comfortable outfit. Below was my outfit of choice for a full day in NYC. A little bit of casual mixed in with sophisticated that doesn't scream I'm a tourist. Ivory+black+cognac is a color combination that is fail proof. Whether it's an ivory jacket, black shirt and cognac boots or ivory shirt, black jacket, cognac purse, or ivory pants, black shirt and cognac jacket - they are interchangeable no matter what item it is. I dressed this outfit up with gold jewelry, a splash of jade, and a Kate Spade purse that was light and easy and carry. Links below for all my items!
Ivory Coat: I purchased mine from Banana Republic many moons ago, but this one fits the bill. Boots: Born shoes are by far my favorite casual shoes to walk in. I have slightly wide feet so it's hard to find a flat that is comfortable. These are my go to brand for comfort if I'm looking for flats (Julianne's come in all different colors). Purse: If you don't have a black cross body already, it's worth investing in this one. And it's on SALE!! Happy shopping! If there's one thing I wish I had more time to do-is cook. When your refrigerator only has ketchup, orange juice, and 10 day old brussel sprouts - you go eat out. I typically wear these khakis to work, so to dress it up it's easy to throw on my Jcrew sweater, a fitted blazer, heels, and of course a glam necklace. Nothing dresses up an outfit more than jewelry. Links and suggestions below! Pants: you'd be surprised how long I've had these H&M khakis. And for only $20, you can't beat it. I wear them to work with a pair of flats and I have them in several colors. They are so comfortable and can be worn day and night.
Necklace: Jcrew Factory is my absolute favorite place to buy necklaces. They are unique and usually under $30 when on sale. Loving this tortoise shell necklace. Blazer: This is from the banana republic heritage collection and fits me like a glove, no alteration needed. My other favorite place to buy blazers is Zara. Sweater: I bought mine from Jcrew last season but Stripes and elbow patches never go out of style for me. Linked below is one from Jcrew I would highly recommend. Marshalls - if you haven't gone there to go shoe shopping, I would. They have a ton of fall boots in all different styles. Thanksgiving. A much needed holiday to look forward to after this whirlwind of an election. Can you smell the turkey and stuffing cooking in the oven?? I was lucky enough to have an early thanksgiving celebration tonight and this outfit is what I wore. As you flip through your wardrobe trying to find the perfect outfit, just hop online and spend the $25 bucks on this festive friendsgiving sweater. Pair it with black trousers, peep toe heels, and this debutante pearl necklace. Links below! Turtle neck sweater: (I bought mine last season, but I like this color even better!) - $25
Black peep toe shoes: $59 Pearl Necklace - $88 I am originally from Alabama and since moving to West Virginia, I've felt robbed. Alabamians have no clue what Fall is really about (no offense ya'll). You can literally smell the crisp falling leaves as you walk out the door. You'll see rows of mums planted at each corner, pumpkins and cornstalks that decorate every home. And of course, there will be a firepit lit in every backyard and smores ready to roast in every pantry. So when you are going to spend the evening outside, you have to have an outfit that is firepit ready. I love to layer. Especially when you'll be spending some time indoors as well as outdoors. If it's chillier out, try adding a camisole underneath or pair this outfit with a cute white beanie or white cashmere wool gloves. Some of these items I bought last season, but I have a linked below items that look very similar. Happy shopping! Boots - I bought the at Kohl's last year, but here are some that I also love http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2634146/unionbay-lionel-womens-ankle-boots.jsp?color=Dark%20Brown http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2674002/simply-vera-vera-wang-womens-wedge-ankle-boots.jsp?color=Agate%20Gray http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2623835/journee-collection-ayla-womens-high-heel-ankle-boots.jsp?color=Brown Cardigan: Sears is usually the store I cut through to get to the mall and I ran across this for only $12.99. They are so comfortable and perfect for layering. Shirt: I bought mine from Aerie, but you can find a striped long sleeve tee anywhere now a days. Vest :I'm sorry I posted about last season finds. I got this vest from Banana Republic and I loved it because it was a little different from all the other puffer vest out there. I linked one that I absolutely love and would purchase if I didn't already own this one. Voila! Head to toe firepit ready! I also have to share the amazing fire my husband built.
