An entry should inspire your guest and give them an immediate sense of your style, personality, and character. For the holidays I changed it up a bit. But I do think it does scream - a classic Christmas This table is the focal point of our entry. Lamps in an entry are always inviting. Entry's also have to serve a purpose. So be sure you have a mirror so you can check yourself before you "exit." I decided on a simple wreath, a string of garland, and a silver bow. For me it's about symmetry. I don't have an eye for asymmetry (which I'm sure benefits me as a dentist). So when I place things, I like two of them. Call me old fashioned, but I'm never satisfied with something short on end and tall on the other. Hence, two identical lamps, two identical dried hydrangeas, and similar size items on each end. Don't let the color of any object deter you from purchasing it. This sleigh was a hand me down that was red and green. I spray painted it silver and voila - fast forward to modern design.
